Mint Master and Master Jeweller, Peter S. Vinczer, created this Masterpiece Dagger work of art over 50 years ago. It is valued at over $250,000. Impossible blue glass powder enamel finish overtop hand engraved sheath made of gold and silver. Every tiny intricate part was delicately hand crafted in ancient traditional ways using only hammers and hand tools, shaped and hand carved to an astounding finish. The Dagger is adorned with beautiful white pearls and an amethyst stone at the end of the dagger’s handle.
This masterpiece took a year to complete from raw materials, Mr. Vinczer’s artistic conceptualization and painstakingly crafting every tiny piece to form this exquisite Dagger.
When the Mint and Factory was located at 30 Bloor Street West in the early 70’s, this and many other masterpieces were stolen by thieves. Sgt. Don Cowie of Toronto Police, miraculously recovered it, all other Masterpieces and arrested two brothers and their father who managed to get past Chubb Alarm Systems. As a young boy, Attila Vinczer admired this very Dagger staring at it’s beauty in the factory’s display case. Unbeknown to his father, Peter Vinczer, he gifted it to his son Attila, decades later.

When I first saw this stunning dagger, my draw dropped. The detail, the colours and the overall beaty of this piece is breathtaking. Peter Vinczer is a true artist who creates masterpieces. What an honour. I’m terribly sorry to hear that he passed last year. We lost a special man.
